The Texas Poker Open is in full swing at Champions Club in Houston, Texas, and Friday featured the first of seven high rollers for the series while Day 1D of the $3,300 buy-in Main Event was underway. The Texas Poker Open High Roller #1: $5,100 No-Limit Hold'em attracted a total of 13 entrants and created a prize pool of $65,000. The final two players finished in the money, and it was Victoria Livschitz who defeated Michael Wang heads-up to win the $45,500 first-place prize.
With two flights of the Texas Poker Open Main Event underway, a handful of players entered the opening high roller of the series. Jeremy Ausmus, Chino Rheem, Jesse Lonis, David Coleman, David Mzareulov, Casey Brown, Aram Zobian, Chander Jain, and Joseph Coffaro sat alongside Wang and Livschitz throughout the event. When Becker was eliminated on the money bubble in third place, Wang and Livschitz would be heads-up for the $45,500 first-place prize and the Texas Poker Open belt buckle trophy.
Wang entered heads-up play with the chip lead, and after each player traded chips back-and-forth, Livschitz secured a double when she turned trips against Wang's flush draw and two overs. No club came on the river, and Livschitz held a three-to-one chip advantage over Wang. Wang began chopping away at his deficit before he would run a king-high flush into an ace-high flush to be trailing by nearly a seven-to-one margin. The final hand saw Wang shove nearly eight big blinds with queen-jack and Livschitz called with queen-nine. The flop saw a nine fall, and when the board bricked out, Wang would settle for second place and $19,500 in prize money - just a few days after topping the 321-entrant field in the $400 Monster Stack, where he won $22,910 in prize money.
Livschitz now earns her third career PGT title with this Texas Poker Open High Roller victory. Livschitz now has $1,015,690 in career PGT earnings and becomes the 224th player to eclipse $1,000,000 in career PGT earnings. She will have several more opportunities to add to these statistics with six more high rollers on the Texas Poker Open schedule, while Livschitz also has a seat on Day 2 in the Texas Poker Open Main Event after bagging 216,000 on Day 1B.

Livschitz now climbs into 25th on the 2024 PGT leaderboard with 319 PGT points and leaps over the likes of Cary Katz (26th), Matthew Wantman (27th), and Sean Winter (28th). This is Wang's first PGT cash of the season, and in 2023 he finished 105th overall with 518 PGT points on the back of one victory and four cashes.

What's Next On the Texas Poker Open Schedule?
The Day 1E turbo flight is underway, while Day 1D is playing down to the final 22 players who will advance to Day 2 to join the 17 survivors from Day 1A and 1B.
On Saturday, April 27, will be Day 1F at 12 p.m. CT and Day 1G turbo at 6 p.m. CT. Another $5,100 No-Limit Hold'em high roller will begin at 5 p.m. CT. Sunday, April 28, will begin at 8 a.m. CT with the final turbo Day 1H flight before Day 2 of the Texas Poker Open Main Event begins at 2 p.m. CT. The final one-day high roller will begin at 5 p.m. CT.
Beginning on Monday, April 29, will be a stretch of two-day high rollers. There will be a $5,100 No-Limit Hold'em, a $5,100 Pot-Limit Omaha, a $10,100 No-Limit Hold'em, and a $10,100 Pot-Limit Omaha high roller to close out the PGT-qualifying portion of the Texas Poker Open.
